At Samen we don’t believe in averages.
The cow you need is the cow that suits your management, your feed regimen, your terrain and your production expectations.
When we study your herd, we look for the cows you have that meet these criteria. Then we select the sires that will breed replacements more closely reflecting your optimum. - Not a theoretical average someone else has decided you need.
Proven Breeding
The sires we select , do not make our line up, just because their lineage says they are worthy.
Nor do we put too much weight on a hypothetical value they should make for you.
While we have access to over 2,000 sires worldwide, we only select those bulls we are sure will meet the needs of New Zealand farmers. Bulls that are capable of rebuilding many of the values some of our competitors have forgotten are important to you.
And while we do have access to sires from the worlds best breeding organizations , we still deliver more from our own New Zealand breeding programme, than from any other source.
This is because these are the sires that have proven themselves here under your conditions.
Performance Genetics
Performance is not only about selecting a proven sire. Its also about knowing what that sire is going to offer your herd and how it will affect the mix within that herd.
